About The SUSU App
The SUSU App runs the savings circle your family has always run by hand: susu, ROSCA, esusu, ajo, tanda or partner hand. It is built and operated by BigE Solutions LLC.
Why it exists
A savings circle works because people trust each other. What breaks it is rarely the saving. It is the admin: someone chasing late payers, an argument about whose turn it was, and one person holding everyone's money with no record anyone else can check.
The app takes that job away. The payout order is fixed and visible before anyone pays in, every contribution is recorded where every member can see it, and nobody in the circle holds the pot.
How the money moves
Contributions and payouts are processed by Stripe Connect. Money moves from each member's account to that round's recipient; the app never holds member funds. Every member verifies their identity with Stripe before they can join a circle.
How we make money
Creating and joining a circle is free, and contributions carry no added fee. When you receive a payout, a 5% platform fee (minimum $0.30) comes out of the pot, along with Stripe's own processing costs, passed on with no markup. The full breakdown is on the download page and in the app before every payout.
What it is not
- Not a bank. Money in a circle is not a deposit and is not covered by deposit insurance.
- Not a lender. An early payout comes from the other members, not from us.
- Not insurance. If a member stops paying, that round’s pot is smaller; the app does not cover the gap.
- Not financial advice. The guides on this site explain how savings circles work; they do not tell you what to do with your money.
How we write the guides
The guides on this site are written and kept up to date by the team that builds the app, and published by BigE Solutions LLC. They explain how savings circles work, where they go wrong, and how the app handles each part, so they cover our own product. We say so plainly rather than present them as independent reviews.
- Fees and worked examples use the same fee calculation the app applies before every payout, so the numbers in a guide match what you would see in the app.
- Each guide shows the date it was last updated. That date changes when the content changes, not for a typo fix or a design change.
- The guides describe how savings circles work. They are not financial, legal or tax advice for your situation.
If something in a guide is wrong or out of date, email support@thesusu.app. We correct it and update the date.
